iFrame Scrolling Test for iPad
This page is a test for iPad users with an Amazon iframe enclosed in a div with an overflow style. I have an iPad running iOS 6 and it displays iframes just fine without any special tweaking. That is, it removes scrollbars and displays the iframe in content. Everything scrolls together and it works seamlessly for users. People who have iPads running iOS 5 or earlier have problems scrolling iframes.
I’m now running iOS 8 on my iPad without problems displaying iframes.
The following solution for scrolling on iOS 5 is posted elsewhere, but I wanted to see how my iOS 6 iPad handled it. Seems to work just fine. As you can see in the example below, it simply requires enclosing the iframe in a div with two specific overflow style attributes:
<div style="overflow: auto; -webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch;"> <iframe src="https://webbishdesign/articles/" width="100%" height="1000"></iframe> </div>
